Major Works Department

New Build Projects

KVBS has the demonstrable expertise to take on large new build projects across all the sectors it serves: new build residential and commercial in the main.  We have established a robust reputation through the successful delivery of high-quality buildings using an extensive range of construction methods and technologies.

We have a practical, flexible approach to our working relationships.  For example, we are just as happy working with client appointed architects – value-adding our practical expertise to their vision – as we are providing a fully designed and built solution in-house. 

Based on our experience to date, we have found that our design and build capability has been particularly useful for clients who need a comprehensively managed, end-to-end solution.  Our team has the skills and expertise to undertake all stages of the process, from demolition of existing structures, design and planning right through to infrastructure, fit out and landscaping.

Refurbishment

KVBS  has the expertise, resources and experience to undertake refit and refurbishment work across all of the sectors it serves: industrial, commercial, retail and leisure.

Our highly skilled and motivated staff deliver successful projects nationwide, providing our clients with excellent outcomes, while working to strict budgets and deadlines. Our work in the retail sector means that we are used to carrying out work where buildings are still in use, so we work closely with our clients to minimise disruption to their ‘business as usual’ operations. New World Builders has extensive experience refitting and refurbishing work in high specification office buildings, or older properties, including listed properties.

KVBS  provide total, end to end solutions inclusive of Design, Planning, Execution stages, and overall project management. We are equally happy to work as part of your team of contractors, using our breadth of experience to deliver refurbishment projects on time, and on budget. The Scope of Works that we can undertake covers structural, roofing, mechanical, electrical, joinery, partitioning and internal and external fittings and finishes.

Small Works Department

New World Builders provide a full range of small works services to their industrial, retail, commercial and leisure sector clients.

We provide a full, end to end service inclusive of Design, Installation and Building stages, as well as overall project management. Our service successfully combines our expertise in the larger areas of construction with the attention to detail that successful small works projects require.

At KVBS, we deliver construction and building solutions through a structured, end-to-end project life cycle. Our approach ensures quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction at every stage.

KVBS are able to provide a suitable design team or work in collaboration with a Design Team appointed by the Client.  With either option the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects)

Plan of Work. This structure consists of 8 Stages that is a project life cycle and the structure in which we use for all our projects…. regardless of the size, type simplicity or complexity of the any given project.

The RIBA Plan of Work consists of eight distinct stages that guide the process of building design and construction, from initial concept to project completion.

These stages are defined as follows with the relevant actions within each stage detailed also:

Stage 0: Strategic Definition

Purpose: Determine the feasibility of the project and establish the client’s requirements.

Key Tasks: Conduct background research, assess project risks, and develop a business case. No design team is required at this stage.

Stage 1: Preparation and Brief

Purpose: Develop a detailed project brief that outlines the client’s vision and project outcomes.

Key Tasks: Document the brief, agree on the budget, gather site information, and prepare a project timeline.

Stage 2: Concept Design

Purpose: Create initial design concepts based on the project brief.

Key Tasks: Develop conceptual designs, consider site conditions, and review designs with stakeholders to produce a cost plan.

Stage 3: Developed Design

Purpose: Refine the design into detailed plans and drawings.

Key Tasks: Test designs against the project brief, conduct engineering analysis, and prepare for planning applications.

Stage 4: Technical Design

Purpose: Finalise all technical aspects of the project.

Key Tasks: Specify materials, integrate systems, and ensure compliance with building regulations.

Stage 5: Construction

Purpose: Oversee the actual construction of the project.

Key Tasks: Coordinate construction activities, monitor progress, and ensure quality control throughout the building process.

Stage 6: Handover

Purpose: Complete the project and hand it over to the client.

Key Tasks: Conduct final inspections, provide necessary documentation, and ensure the client is satisfied with the completed project.

Stage 7: Use

Purpose: Evaluate the building’s performance and ensure it meets the client’s needs over time.

Key Tasks: Conduct post-occupancy evaluations, gather feedback, and adjust as necessary to improve building performance.
